Cypress Market February 12
There is no official word on our Market Night yet, but the weather forecast is freakin’ COLD! It is always considered open until we have word from our Event Coordinator. The most influential factors in closing us are :
- Too Wet. Obviously no one wants to stand in the rain. If it has rained in the days preceeding the Market and the grassy area we work in is too wet, we also face electrical safety issues. We don’t mess with electricity. Can’t sell anything if we’ve just been charred.
- Freakin’ Cold. We don’t want to stand outdoors in temperatures that are not healthy or safe. Snow has been an issue this year, believe it or not. Our patrons most likely do not want to be in that weather either, and their comfort is paramount.
- Hot Hot Hot. Last summer we were fortunate as vendors to have a large canopy provided by our Event Coordinator at Debbie’s Garden and Farmers’ Market. Since we have moved to our current location at Skinner Road & Hwy 290, vendors are responsible for their own canopies. As it warms to our usual summer temps this might be a factor in vendor turn out, but unless we face rain issues ( see 1, above), we are OPEN. We will see- Market is still learning and figuring out the details.
If you are following my blog for Market Night updates THANK YOU for your patience and support of Market Night. I will be sure to post any official word, and you can leave me a message after the tone in the Comments section above. I will return your call.
